Hey, everyone!
As we quickly approach Black Friday and the craziness of the Christmas season, I want to toss out five great purchases that have positively impacted my life and the environment and share how they might affect yours and/or your loved ones as well. I am receiving nothing from these companies. These are just my experiences. Links to company websites in each description.
1.) The Grip 6 Belt
As I went vegan, I gave up all leather, and one of the things that I quickly realized was that I needed a non-leather belt. Through some research, I found Grip 6. And while not everything on the Grip 6 website is vegan, they do have amazing canvas belts with metal buckles. The combo pack (what I bought) gives you three different color belts and buckles for lots of combos! Buy less leather!

2.) The Tushy Bidet
For over a year now, we have had a Tushy bidet on each of our toilets, and our use of toilet paper has decreased tremendously! People over seas have figured it out! Americans are very leery about anything near their butts. Rest assured, this non-electrical bidet is amazing, and once you use it, you’ll be wanting to tell your friends. It saves soooo much paper and installs in about 10 minutes.

3.) Save Lands Products
Last Christmas, my wife and I bought a few extra gifts for people to raise their spirits during the pandemic. We stumbled upon Save Lands. We were inspired by their mission of planing 12 trees for each item sold. So…we bought a ton of amazing sweatshirts for friends and family and got a bunch of trees planted! Check out their site for all the cool hippie merch (I mean hippie in the best possible way).

4.) Earth Breeze Eco Laundry Sheets
If you are like me, you are tired of all the plastic. And one of our biggest sources of plastic comes from the laundry detergents that we use. Earth Breeze makes amazing washing sheets without the massive plastic jugs! We have been using them for over a year now, and we could not be happier. They clean amazingly, and NO PLASTIC JUG! Go check them out, and make the switch.

5.) Brew Coffee at Home!
I don’t know where you work, but every day at my job, there are tons of people walking around with plastic cups from Dunkin’ or Starbucks. We need to stop using all of that plastic, and we need to start making more coffee at home and bringing our own, washable cups each morning. About three Christmases ago, we bought a Cuisinart coffee maker that also grinds the beans for a fresh pot each morning. No plastic to-go cups…no wasteful single-use machine cups. Just fresh-brewed, amazing coffee each morn with little to no waste (we compost the grounds…I’ll talk about our composter in a later post). I encourage you to grab one of these for yourself or the coffee lover in your life that’s looking to help the environment!

And there you have it! 5 wonderful, planet-helping ideas that you can run with this holiday season. Feel free to hit me up for more info on any of these. If this goes well, I’ll share more of what we are trying to do to help the environment in another post.
None of us are perfect. We for sure aren’t, but we try to do what we can when we can, and every little bit helps!
Looking forward,
Eric
